NRCS and SWCDs in Indiana have a close and productive partnership and are often housed within the same office at the county USDA Service Centers. This is true of Cass County, too. In 2023, Cass Co. SWCD welcomed Sarah Lake, an NRCS Soil Conservationist, to our county as a transitional NRCS partner. Sarah is “holding down the NRCS” fort until the position is permanently filled. Her positive energy, integrity, and excellent communication skills have been a true asset to conservation in Cass County this past year.
